The The IRBs are charged with the responsibility for
reviewing, approving the initiation of, and conducting periodic review of
human subjects research conducted by The Homewood Institutional Review Board is the IRB
serving the University’s Krieger School of Arts and Sciences, Whiting School
of Engineering, School of Professional Studies in Business and Education,
School of Advanced International Studies, Peabody Institute, and Applied
Physics Laboratory (for behavioral and social sciences research). Faculty, staff, and students must submit for
review any human subjects research project, regardless of funding source (or
lack of funding) and regardless of the location at which the research will be
conducted. The Homewood IRB works with the Johns Hopkins
Medicine IRBs and the Committee on Human Research in the Bloomberg School of
Public Health. Human subjects research
projects involving clinical investigations are referred to the Hopkins
Medicine IRBs, which have the expertise to evaluate clinical studies. Home | Contact Us |
