Procedures FOR IRB Review |
Deciding Whether and How to Apply for IRB Clearance All projects involving human subjects research must be cleared by an IRB
(Institutional Review Board) before the research is undertaken. Clearance takes one of three forms: Ÿ an exemption issued by the IRB Ÿ IRB approval based on an
expedited review Ÿ IRB approval based on a
full-board review If your project involves human subjects
research, you must complete an application for one of these forms of
clearance. The following questions will help you determine whether
your project involves human subjects research and,
if so, what type of application you must submit. Home
